The 50 cent coins issued between 1951 and 1965, with the central hole, are key pieces for collectors due to their historical value and distinctive design. Although minted for general circulation, these coins have also become a symbol of the Franco era and the socio-economic context of post-war Spain. The only coin in this series that has considerable value is the 1941*E, minted to commemorate the 2nd National Numismatic Exhibition on December 2, 1951. On this coin, the "E" replaces the "19" in the lower star, a detail that distinguishes it and makes it especially valuable.
