Coin Identification
Coin identification. Surely in your collection of world coins, ancient coins or any type of collection you have some coins that you cannot identify because they are deteriorated or because they include strange symbols or letters. The first step to know if a coin has value is to recognise and classify it. Upload a couple of pictures and a brief description including as much information as possible and get help from other numismatists and hobbyists.

Other resources for identifying and recognising coins
Before uploading your coin to try to be recognised, it is highly recommended that you take a look at the resources we offer. Look at one of the two sides of the coin, it is very likely that it has a coat of arms of the country to which it belongs. Also, if it is written in symbols other than our alphabet, you can guess the equivalent in our culture.

Moneda de vellón de Felipe II (1566-1597) con un peso de 1.35 gramos y 18 mm.
Anverso:PHILIPPVS II DEI GRATIA alrededor de un castillo con ceca a los lados dentro de orla de 8 lóbulos.
Reverso:HISPANIAVM REX alrededor de un león a izquierda dentro de orla de 8 lóbulos.
Se acuñó en las cecas de Burgos, Cuenca, Segovia, Toledo y Valladolid.

El anverso seria: cabeza de augusto a izq. leyenda IMP AVGVSTVS XIV. rev: CAESARAVGVSTA, encima de los bueyes y debajo II VIR, alrededor M. PORCI CN FAD. en esta ceca se emitieron monedas de augusto entre el 27 ac hasta el 14 dc.
