Current banknotes in circulation
Bahrain' s current banknotes were introduced in 2006 as part of the fourth series. This issue includes denominations of 1/2, 1, 5, 10 and 20 dinars, each with a unique design that represents important aspects of Bahraini culture and history. For example, the 20 dinar bill shows the Central Bank of Bahrain building, while the 10 dinar note features the Al-Fateh Mosque, one of the country's largest places of worship.

Prior to the introduction of the current banknotes, Bahrain had three previous series of banknotes. The first series, issued in 1965, was denominated in Persian Gulf dinars. In 1973, the second series was introduced, already in Bareini dinars, marking an important milestone in the country's monetary sovereignty. The third series, launched in 1998, featured significant improvements in security features. A notable event in Bahrain's notability was the issuance of a commemorative 100 dinar bill in 2017, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the banking sector in the country.
