Coin Identification
Coin identification. Surely in your collection of world coins, ancient coins or any type of collection you have some coins that you cannot identify because they are deteriorated or because they include strange symbols or letters. The first step to know if a coin has value is to recognise and classify it. Upload a couple of pictures and a brief description including as much information as possible and get help from other numismatists and hobbyists.

Other resources for identifying and recognising coins
Before uploading your coin to try to be recognised, it is highly recommended that you take a look at the resources we offer. Look at one of the two sides of the coin, it is very likely that it has a coat of arms of the country to which it belongs. Also, if it is written in symbols other than our alphabet, you can guess the equivalent in our culture.

La verdad no se ve bien, pero puede que se trata de 2 maravedis de Felipe II, resellados en 1603 a 4 maravedis, vuelto a resellas en 1636 a 6 maravedis

- 2.- Useful 0 Not useful 0 Antonio galindo lopez: Hola hay contramarcas con la R en un circulo en varios catálogos aparte de otras letras o símbolos en varios catálogos y estudios por eso pido ayuda pues me gustaría saber la diferencia de R en contramarca y R en rendición aparte de saber el estado de la moneda agradecería que alguien me ayudase a salir de este problema
- 3.- Useful 1 Not useful 0 javier chust: Las contramarcas son un martillazo que se le da a la moneda después de acuñarse, por lo que tendría que dejar una diferencia de altura entre dónde golpeó y dónde no, y la R tendría que estar a la altura del resto de la zona no acuñada. En cambio, en esta moneda la R está a la altura del dibujo, por lo que no puede ser contramarca, sino que se acuñó al mismo tiempo que toda la moneda, y no he encontrado hemidracmas de Ebussus con una R dentro de un círculo (falsas aparte).
